Our thriving and energetic healthcare IT consultancy and recruitment agency is looking to add a vibrant Director of EMR to our growing team. This position has the opportunity to work remotely. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned healthcare IT professional that has experience with systems such as Cerner and/or Epic, have a deep understanding of healthcare systems and hospitals, a strong presenter, as well as a strong business development professional. A Successful Director of EMR will be able to excel in these areas:


Business Development

  • Work closely with leadership team to manage and cultivate leads and new business
  • Be experienced in providing presentations and demonstrations to executives in the Hospital and Healthcare markets, preferably with Patient Engagement and/or Patient Education solutions – and experience winning/awarded client business
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Development, Marketing and Leadership teams across the company, and external consultants as needed, supporting sales and implementation efforts of an end-to-end, explicit system of work for Excite portfolio and project execution
  • Assist the Sales Department with negotiating resources needed throughout IT departments including Go Live projects
  • Travel to key client and potential client sites to build relationships, educate, and motivate external and internal sales teams, and co-travel with Patient Engagement sales team to drive growth. Travel flexibility up to 50% or up to two weeks per month
  • Plan and maintain an efficient and cost effective travel schedule that coordinates and maximizes product exposure for optimal sales support opportunities


Understanding IT Systems

  • Have a proven track record and strong technical background in the following areas:
    • Deep understanding of EHR system design and workflows (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
    • Broad understanding of IT solutions; general knowledge of current software development methodologies and solution architectures
    • Basic understanding and application of web-related technologies and excellent understanding of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems
  • Experience leading a large implementation in either Cerner, Epic, or both
  • Demonstrate strong application skills in the use of relational databases and familiarity with database extracts and analyzing tools using


Project Management

  • Work closely and oversee consulting staff and have the ability to train, coach, and mentor
  • Ensure projects are initiated, planned, executed, controlled, and closed in accordance with success criteria approved by the leadership team, and employing best practices
  • Define how the scope, goals, and deliverables of IT projects support business goals, in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Continuously improve EMR project delivery to improve client satisfaction, value delivery, and innovation
  • Effectively manage expectations, resolve escalated issues, manage risks, and negotiate win-win solutions across all stakeholders
  • Direct and manage the development of all IT projects within Business Development and Sales Department
  • Drive revenue by providing technical product support during the sales process
  • Lead scoping and feasibility studies


Have the Basics

  • Preferred: B.S. in Management Information Systems
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow through
  • Demonstrate disciplined and efficient time management skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and dedication to overall success of Excite Health Partners
  • Work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the position. This may include evenings and weekends to accommodate sales support activities
  • Have strong analytical and organizational skills to include the ability to prepare and present relevant summaries of complex material

  • Advanced clinical or technical degree
  • Masters of Information Systems
  • Experience in large teaching hospitals
  • Project Management certification
  • Relationships with HIMSS organizations
  • Working relationship with vendors such as Epic or Cerner
  • Strong Hospital IT Connections preferred
