CAREER PATH DEVELOPMENT
The ability to train and maintain knowledgeable and highly qualified coding specialists is a necessity. Shrinking budgets, lack of available training staff, tools, time, and focus on keeping current workloads are just a few of the challenges impeding a facility’s ability to train current or new incoming coders. Supporting coders in learning other coding specialties takes time away from the sole focus on their designated patient type. But the payoff from well-rounded coders can be worth the efforts.
